This website is dedicated to my experiences on a massive road trip of the entire Western region of North America. Although I’ve traveled to many other places throughout my life, this is my first true odyssey to experience the world at large. Not only will these travels take me to many places around this world, but any great journey like this brings us deeper inside on a pilgrimage into the self.

This journey will take me through every state in the USA from New Mexico to Montana, all the way to the Pacific coast. It will also include places in Canada, Mexico, and wherever else I am called to go. Although I had an original list of places to visit when I started this trip, few truly great journeys are linear, and so I’m keeping an open mind and agenda about where the road takes me. The timing of this trip was originally going to take about three months to complete, but now after six months in, I feel like I haven’t even reached the halfway point yet.

There are many purposes for this journey, too many to list in full, but a few of the main ones are (in no particular order):

    • Become a better writer and storyteller through this travel blog and a private journal
    • See much of the western half of America and some of Canada and Mexico, nearly all of which is totally new to me
    • Take tons of pictures and attempt to capture some of the more memorable places on this trip
    • Meet many new great souls, experience the richness of many cultures, taste many delicious foods, and bask in the life-giving energy of nature in many new places
    • As I travel across the earth physically, also traverse a parallel journey within to learn more about the self and strengthen my connection with the divine
    • Find the next place to move to where I can live, be, learn and grow
    • Listen to tons of great music!

I’m doing my best to plan for this trip so at least I have a bearing to follow on the compass of the universe. But I’m also opening myself to unknown possibilities and letting the divine be my tour guide. There’s one thing I know for sure, and it’s that God always has our back. When we open ourselves to being a part of the infinite, then we begin to see that what we perceive as coincidences are just pieces to the larger picture of serendipity.

So I welcome you to be a part of my journey in any form that you can manifest. You can read the stories and view the pictures here to travel vicariously through me. You can come on parts of the trip to go on a new adventure, or to lead me somewhere that’s already special to you. You can offer a place to stay or just some good company as I’m traveling through. You can even just call, email, or post a comment here if you’d like to share something.

In closing, here’s a fitting song of parting that I learned when I was a kiddo…

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we’re together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, ’till we meet again.

“Happy Trails” by Dale Evans, Queen of the West (story & lyrics, story)
